Lead Instructor: Jeremy Orr

Jeremy brings his extensive knowledge of firearms and self-defense to Northwest Firearms & Tactics.  Studied in martial arts for the past twenty plus years, with a primary focus on Kombatan, his knowledge of self-defense is extensive. From the ages of 16 to 21 he volunteered as a police cadet; a position that requires countless hours of tactical training.  

For the past eight years he has worked as an armed security officer and trainer wherein he has educated private security officers in firearms, baton, OC, handcuffing, and first aid/CPR.

Jeremy has been teaching in some capacity since the age of 14. His years of instructing have given him the unique ability to work with all variations of skill sets. As an instructor it is of the utmost importance to him to remain up to date and educated on the newest techniques, gear, and weaponry available.

WJTC Armed Security Instructor

American Red Cross First Aid/CPR Instructor

ASP Handcuffing/Baton Instructor

Safariland OC Spray Instructor

NWDTP Trainer

Pistol/Carbine Instructor: Nicholas Butler

Nicholas's earliest experience with firearms is derived from his stepfather, the lead firearms instructor for his municipality. Right after high school, Nicholas enlisted in the Army and was stationed in South Korea; while stationed in Korea, Nicholas participated in multiple training exercises to strengthen capabilities between South Korea and the U.S. forces. While in the active Army, Nicholas was assigned to a unit to assist military police in apprehending active shooters. While in the Army, Nicholas was a qualified expert on the M-4, M249, and M9, as well as several belt machine guns.

Nicholas has spent several years in the security industry and was a use-of-force instructor for a well-known self-defense training company. Nicholas is very passionate about the education of firearms and firearm systems, emphasizing safety.

Lead Rifle Instructor: Cory Taylor

Cory Taylor has been around firearms since he was a child. He served in the United States Marine Corps with the 2nd Light Armored Recon. Through his service with the Marine Corps he qualified with the M-4, Beretta M9, M203, 242 bushmaster, and many more. Cory also became a Master gunny instructor for the 25mm.

After the military, Cory went on to private contracting in the middle east providing armed security for high level personnel and facilities.

Cory’s current focus is long range precision shooting. Cory is constantly learning new techniques and is excited to continue to teach and share his vast knowledge in firearms.
